Gaming is a huge part of today's entertainment landscape, but parental involvement is critical for keeping kids safe in their digital spaces.🎮 Understand how your kids are spending their gaming time– become familiar with what they're playing by exploring it together.🎮 Keep consoles in an easy-to-monitor location and set limits on where personal devices can be taken within the home.🎮 Choose a username that doesn't reveal personal information.🎮 Set clear expectations around communication, stressing the importance of never meeting online friends in person without parental permission.🎮 Talk with kids about not sharing personal information.🎮 Work together to choose safe, age-appropriate games. By increasing your involvement in your child's online activities, you can help them build safer habits to last a lifetime.#VideoGames #gaming #NCPTF #JustOneMore

By age 7, the percentage of kids playing video games nearly equals that of older gamers (~80%). More interestingly, it's parents (not siblings) who are now the dominant majority introducing the next generation to video games, with ~35% of 10-12 year olds first being introduced by their parent or guardian. The data underscores a profound evolution: inter-generational native gamers are not just a demographic, they're a growing culture. Platforms that foster family-oriented play acknowledge this shift. They're poised to win by nurturing the fabric of gaming's social legacy, where early introduction through family bonds cements lifelong engagement. Platforms and Publishers that focus on multi-generational experiences and family-friendly content won't just serve the market - they will build it, creating a shared digital hearth. This isn't just gaming's future; it's a return to its roots, reimagined through the lens of age-inclusion and family-innovation. And, I'm eager to be part of this exciting endeavor.Source: https://lnkd.in/dR4Ucqxh#Xbox #PlayStation #Nintendo #Steam #Minecraft #Fortnite #Roblox #Videogames #FamilyFun

❓❓I get the question "what games does the curriculum use for purposeful play?" a lot, and the simple answer is NONE! Our gaming concept curriculum does not focus on any specific game allowing the teacher or students to choose a game that they are interested in, we even have schools utilizing board games! The transferable skills that students get from gaming are invaluable to their futures, made even stronger through Gaming Concepts!https://lnkd.in/givtAA7qReady to learn more? 👉 https://lnkd.in/gSHPdP89#EdChat #education #learning #teaching #edtech #school #STEM #STEMeducation #educationmatters #educationforall #educationtech #educationaltechnology #educationalresources #educationalcontent #educationalinspiration #australia #EduLeadership #EdNews #EdInnovation #FutureOfEducation #21stCenturyLearning #LearningSolutions #LearningIsFun #EducationalLeadership #EducationEquity #EducationInnovation #CTE #esports #esporteduMichael Russell Mason Mullenioux Kristy Custer Bubba Gaeddert Generation Esports

Potentially unpopular opinion, but I don't believe Nintendo's crusade against emulators is healthy for the industry.I understand their concerns and that they are affected more than other platforms, but I'd like to argue that emulation and modding are both inevitable and essential to preserving video game history. We can't leave the preservation of all game art works (video games are art, don't @ me) in the hands of corporate entities concerned with profit. Also, clamping down and pursuing legal action against the fans who love your worlds this much just seems like a huge ick to me. We will only see players become more and more educated on how to open up the code and look around. I mean, we have preteens coding and releasing commercially successful games on Roblox now!Sorry, but the possible ramifications if Nintendo wins their lawsuit against Yuzu would negatively impact the industry in my opinion. I feel that maybe Nintendo needs to adapt more than punish.
