New footage from the kidnapping and captivity of Israeli hostage Matan Angrest, 22, during October 7, in which he is documented being attacked, was chosen to be released on Thursday evening by his mother, Anat Angrest.

Angrest was captured in uniform from a tank while wounded and unconscious at the Nahal Oz outpost on the Gaza border during the attacks.

In the released footage, Angrest can be seen surrounded by terrorists on the tank with his uniform ripped off the upper half of his body, as his arms are held up.

Angrest is then seen on his knees as the terrorists continue to hold his hands behind his back.

The Hostage Families Forum discussed the videos, stating that the Angrest family has made the "difficult decision" to take the "rare and painful step" of releasing the footage.

Before releasing the video, Matan's mother said that while she initially avoided watching the video and publishing it, she felt that sharing it was no longer a choice.

“I have to set aside my own feelings. I only think about what I need to do to prove that there are people buried underground, in immediate life-threatening danger — and that they can still be saved," Anat said.

"This morning, I showed the video to my parents. Each viewing shortens their lives - Holocaust survivor grandparents now witnessing their beloved grandson's suffering," she added.

"My Matan's injuries speak for themselves. He has no time left," she commented.

"According to testimonies from those who have returned, Matan is suffering from irreversible long-term disabilities, abuse, and facial fractures. My son is in a cage, starving, without daylight," she added.

"President Trump, you helped so many to be released, you helped so many to be reunited with their families. Please do whatever you can to advance a deal that will bring my son and the other 58 hostages back home," she concluded, in a call to the US president to assist.

The terrorist organization later released a propaganda video of Angrest while in captivity, where he is questioned in English by a Hamas terrorist.

"I hope to see you soon, I love you," Angrest addresses his family in the video. The terrorist then asked Angrest to address Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government, to which Angrest pleaded for the hostage release deal to continue.

Another video was also released shortly later showing moments of his capture.

At the beginning of March, Hamas published a propaganda video that gave a sign of life of Angrest.

In the video, Angrest was seen saying that the only way to bring the hostages back was through moving to the second stage of the hostage deal.

He also said in the video that the hostages were starting to lose hope and did not see the end. Angrest told the IDF that it would not succeed in releasing the hostages through military force, but only through a deal.

Angrest then called on government officials to move forward with the deal to release all the hostages held in Gaza.

The kidnapping of Angrest

“He had gone out with his team to defend the outpost and the kibbutzim. Matan was abducted in critical condition and is enduring unimaginable suffering, torture during interrogations, and inhumane conditions,” Angrest's family stated.

“Despite being severely wounded, he was not returned in the humanitarian phase, solely because he is an Israeli soldier.”

Angrest, who served in a tank unit, was captured alongside his fellow soldiers Itai Chen, Daniel Peretz, and Tomer Leibovitz – who were all killed in the battle and their bodies were taken into Gaza.
